From the E7 Universe
About this Book
Battle in the Park
By Jarrod L. Edge
Sometimes the fiercest battles begin as play.
What starts as a friendly winter snowball fight in New York City becomes a reminder that even moments of joy can draw the attention of darkness—and that the war between light and shadow is never as far away as it seems.
ABOUT THIS STORY
Battle in the Park is one of the most deceptively important stories in The Acts of the Dragons, set during Elizabeth Sette’s seventh year and recorded during the fifteenth year of her life after the Battle Between Light and Dark.
On the surface, the story is simple and joyful. Friends gather in Battery Park for an epic snowball fight—carefully planned, fiercely contested, and filled with laughter, rivalry, and camaraderie. For a brief moment, the Dragons are allowed to be children again.
But beneath the laughter, something far more significant is happening.
As Elizabeth’s heightened senses are mysteriously muted, the Dragons fight on equal footing with their friends—revealing not only their growth, but their trust in one another and in God’s timing. What appears to be a harmless game quietly becomes a test of restraint, balance, and humility.
Unseen by most, however, the battle attracts attention from forces far beyond the park.
A fractured signal, a broken device, and a moment of uncontrolled power ripple outward—triggering a response from the same dark networks that operate across worlds. For an instant, the cosmic war brushes against ordinary life, only to be pushed back… this time.
This story confirms a sobering truth within the E7 Universe: there is no such thing as a truly isolated moment anymore.
Even joy can echo across dimensions.
WHY THIS STORY MATTERS
Battle in the Park is essential to the E7 timeline because it:
- Shows the cost of power restraint rather than power use
- Demonstrates that Elizabeth’s abilities are not always active by design
- Confirms that dark forces continue to monitor Earth—even during moments of peace
- Establishes lingering threats connected to portal technology and unseen observers
- Bridges playful innocence with looming interdimensional danger
This is the first Acts story where the danger is not sought, not provoked, and not understood—only narrowly avoided.
E7 UNIVERSE CONNECTIONS
This story subtly expands the larger universe by:
- Reinforcing the presence of dark portal technology still in circulation
- Showing that off‑world and interdimensional forces respond to even minor disturbances
- Establishing that Elizabeth’s growth includes learning when not to fight
- Foreshadowing future confrontations with enemies who do not forget past defeats
➡️ The war watches… even when the Dragons are laughing.
