Welcome to the Tuesday Music Release.
Today’s song is titled “Not Afraid (of the Monster)”.
This track actually released alongside “You Calling” back on March 10th, but I never took the time to give it its own post—so here it is.
The song opens with a low-pitched harmony of voices that gives off an almost spooky, uneasy vibe… like something is there, just out of sight. Then it breaks in with a solid, funky beat that begins to drive everything forward.
From there, the layers start to build.
The upright bass lays down a steady foundation in the background, while jazz instruments blend with more progressive beats, percussion, and guitars. The vocals carry a slightly breaking, almost distorted edge—as if something deeper is pushing through.
As the name suggests, the song is about not being afraid of the monster—whatever form it takes. Whether that’s something obvious, something hidden, or even the pressure of everyday life creeping in.
It all builds toward a howling finish—a declaration.
Not afraid.
Not of what’s out there.
Not of the monster.
From the Story
This song was inspired by Zeta 6 (An Origin Story), where we follow a character forced to confront her own duality. All the while, the dark force of the Saint of the Apocalypse lingers—sometimes silent, sometimes present—just beneath the surface.
It’s that tension… that internal battle… that found its way into the sound of this track.
