Fascinating Christian sci-fi
I was thoroughly surprised by the plot. A federal agent father loses his wife from an evil syndicate’s attack and then finds his newborn child missing from the hospital, thus begins a 7-year search. During this time, he focuses on teaching his other children how to protect themselves in any situation. The fight scenes are dramatic enough for any grown man and will likely make young people want to learn these innovative self-defense techniques. The kids are also extremely funny, especially the twin boys.
While Dad fights crime worldwide, with the family in tow, we are given glimpses into the large picture of a sinister threat to destroy the world. We also see how this family chooses to turn every setback, every heartache in their lives, into another opportunity to trust God. It isn’t preachy, just written as a natural result of the family truly believing God is the answer to everything. I loved getting a glimpse into the life of the apostle John and the idea that he could have written another prophecy that was hidden until it was needed for the protection of all mankind. There are some other plot twists I wasn’t expecting because the author really has a new concept. It’s thoroughly enjoyable sci-fi/fantasy, but it challenges your spiritual walk as well.
